🔥 Tired of Sleeping in a Fire Pit?

Let’s Talk About Night Sweats, Hot Flashes & Hormonal Heat that ignite emotional flare-ups.

A tired Black woman sitting on the edge of her bed in the middle of the night with a lamp on, looking exhausted and disoriented after being woken by night sweats.
When you wake up wondering if you’re in bed or a bonfire… Night sweats, hot flashes, wild dreams—Sis, I’ve been there. But there’s relief. Let’s cool things down together.

Can I be transparent for a moment — I didn’t see this coming. About two weeks before my cycle, I started waking up drenched in sweat. I mean drenched to the point where I legit thought I had peed the bed. 😩 (Sorry, hubby—you married a hot mess in more ways than one! 😂)

But seriously, it was so bad I’d abruptly wake up multiple times a night feeling like I was sleeping in a fire pit. My skin was burning, my dreams were wild and intense, and my rest was completely thrown off. At first, I thought it was stress… maybe something I ate… but over time, I realized it was hormonal.

My body wasn’t just reacting—it was preparing.

For many of us, these waves of internal heat, night sweats, and intense dreams can be early signs of menopause. But they can also be connected to the natural hormonal shifts that happen as our bodies prepare for our monthly detox—our cycle. It’s like our internal thermostat is ghosting us and flaring up just to remind us who’s boss. 🥵

🌿 What Helped Me Cool from the Inside Out

A lot of folks love to use external oils or cooling sprays—and while that can help, my body craves cooling from the inside out. That’s where herbs have truly come to the rescue.

My nightly go-to is a gentle, powerful brew of Lemon Balm & Rose Tea.

Here’s why I love it:

💚 Lemon Balm – Calming, cooling, and supportive for the nervous system. It helps ease inner tension and promotes restful sleep.

🌸 Rose Petals – Naturally cooling, emotionally soothing, and uplifting. Perfect for nights when both your skin and your spirit feel inflamed.

This simple combo has brought me so much relief. But depending on your body, there are other beautiful herbs that can help reduce the internal heat too:

💡 3 More Herbs to Support Your Hormonal Heat

🌿 Sage (Salvia officinalis – common garden sage)

This is the one you want for internal use—not white sage (that’s for smoke cleansing!). Common sage helps reduce excessive sweating, supports hormonal balance, and gently cools the body. A favorite for night sweats and hot flashes.

🌿 Shatavari

Known in Ayurveda as the “queen of herbs” for female wellness, Shatavari is cooling, moistening, and helps nourish the reproductive system. It’s especially supportive for women in any stage of hormonal transition.

🌿 Spearmint

Refreshing and balancing, spearmint supports healthy androgen levels, eases internal inflammation, and promotes a cool, restful sleep.

🛌 You Don’t Have to Suffer in a Furnace

In the words of my mother, Baby Chile, it's hard to function without rest. When your nights are interrupted by sweat, heat, and chaotic dreams, it’s not just uncomfortable—it’s exhausting.

But hear me: you don’t have to suffer in silence.

There are gentle, natural ways to support your body's natural shift.

Create your own cooling bedtime brew using one of the herbs above—or a blend of a few.

Or let me help you create one that’s uniquely tailored to your body’s needs.
