August is a peculiar month.
It’s hot.
The air is thick and heavy.
And somehow, it’s deeply humbling.
Emotionally speaking, August is the month where feelings surface - ready or not. The stress, weariness, frustration, or discontentment you’ve tucked away and ignored, all begins to rise.
The intensity of this month can feel like you are being hard pressed against a wall. The more life presses in, your body joins in, crying out for release.
Here's a truth bomb-
The pressure you are experiencing may not be coming from the outside.
It's possibly internal.
Sometimes, the weight pressing in is inflammation pushing out.
Let me explain.
August is the month when the body purges. It's the time of year when internal fire makes itself known through the skin, the nerves, and the blood.
Are you noticing,
Sudden acne breakouts?
Flushed, irritated, or inflamed skin?
Elevated blood pressure?
Hormonal surges or mood swings?
Adrenal fatigue and energy crashes?
Dehydration that no amount of water seems to quench?
This isn't happening just because of the heat outside.
It’s your body letting you know that you are also carrying heat within.
August Is a Powerful Time to Detox
Your pores are crying.
Your body is purging.
Let it.
Let your body show you where inflammation has been living.
Let the heat expose the places where stillness, hydration, and compassion is needed.
This month, give your system permission to cool down, clear out, and come back into balance.
When considering herbal support, focus on:
Cooling herbs like hibiscus, marshmallow root, and lemon balm
Hydration through infused waters and mineral-rich herbal teas
Emotional release, especially stored anger and adrenal tension
Skin protection, from both external heat and internal stress
I emphasize that you should not simply focus on surviving the heat. Use the month's intensity to be refined by it.
Make the most August's energy with God’s healing creations.
For my clients who are experiencing this form of inflammation, I've recommended starting each morning with a cold infusion of marshmallow root. This root is traditionally known to gently soothe inflammation, deeply hydrate your tissues, and help initiate detox without overstimulating your system.
However, there are some whose body is screaming for deeper regulation and rest. If this is you, I encourage you to explore my book, Healed Within. It offers Spirit-led insight into emotional cooling, internal inflammation, and how to work with God’s natural creations to restore balance to your mind, body, and spirit. It’s a compassionate and timely guide—especially for this season of inner heat and outward release. Nevertheless, I am available for personalized support. As August unfolds,
remember the discomfort you feel isn’t punishment—it is an invitation to listen, slow down, cool down, and self heal.
This is a divine call to let God meet you in the fire.
A nudge for you to let creation nourish your cells.
And a loving tap on the shoulder to remind you that it's time for your spirit to be refreshed.
Stay cool, stay grounded, and stay close to the One who restores all things.
